From 1995-1998 Dr. Tami Fisk
served with MSI Professional Services as one of our pioneer workers in
Xichang and Zhaojue, Sichuan Province.
She worked at a local hospital and commuted to mountain towns in the
region. She conducted training
for village health workers and held health fairs on village streets,
administering medical help. Shortly
after returning to the U.S. in 1998 for a Fellowship at Emory Medical School in Atlanta, GA, Tami was diagnosed with melanoma. She died on March 4, 2005. Though she spent a relatively short
time in China, her service left an indelible impact on the
people she served, as well as the colleagues with whom she served. Her love for God and others was
continually evident to those around her.
Following Tami’s death in March 2005, the Fisk family established a
scholarship fund for medically-trained individuals exploring and/or beginning
medical service in China with MSI Professional Services.
