MSI Professional Services (formerly Medical Services International) was founded by Dr. James Hudson Taylor III, Dr. Reginald Tsang and Mr. Richard Chen in 1994. The change of name in 2001 was to reflect our increasing scope of work from medical services to include community development, English education, business administration and management training, youth work, and livestock projects.

Over the past thirteen years, we have branched out from our headquarters in Hong Kong into twelve regional centers in different parts of the world which mobilize and send Christian professionals to work in China.

From sending only short-term teams in our early years, we now have over a hundred long-term workers and their families stationed in Inland China either in front-line service or in pre-service language studies. We have also extended our services to more than ten sites in Sichuan, Yunnan and Chongqing.

In April 2007, our founding President Dr. James Hudson Taylor III was awarded Honorary Citizenship of Da Liang Shan Prefecture in recognition of MSI's contributions to the well-being of the people we serve - the Han Chinese as well as the minorities.
